For the first month or so the most recent booster set to be released was Dragon Fighters which concluded the Buddyfight Triple D sets and had support for all worlds as well as the 3 evolved dragon forces. Many decks received a large amount of support from this set but a couple decks became the top of the meta from this set. For instance a deck that claimed at least one top 8 spot in just about every regional tournament during the Dragon Fighters meta was the Dragon Chief Emperor deck that had based itself around "Pinnacle of Martial Arts, Duel Jaeger "God Vortoise"". The deck was based around quickly calling this Duel Jaeger form so the deck would have a wall that most decks in the current meta would have a hard time dealing with since it couldn't have its soul removed or be rested and also had support cards that when in the soul that would prevent the colossal titan from being destroyed by monster effects or give gauge once per turn when Vortoise would attack. The deck had many methods of protecting the card and used this to its advantage by stopping your opponent from doing as they pleased and gaining more and more advantage until the opponent couldn't stop it. Another deck that began growing in popularity in the competitive scene was the Legend World Variant of Zodiac. This variant of zodiac got more popular due to receiving a new weapon that helped with the decks gauge issues as well as a second form that was good for dealing with many decks in the competitive scene. The deck already had the consistency it needed to be a competitive deck but by fixing the issues of a lack of gauge and adding a new form the deck got everything it needed to play on an even level with most of the competition at the time. The deck wasn't super popular in the competitive scene but was a very good deck to use at the time. There were a bunch of other decks that were wildly popular when it came to the competitive scene such as Style of Justice based decks in Star Dragon World, Fifth Omni and Sun Dragons based around Style of Impact for Dragon World, Neo Zwei and many others. To finish the recap on the Dragon Fighters meta the last deck that could even be crowned the best deck of the meta and must be mentioned are the Searing Executioners. This deck was always hitting top tables during the Dragon Fighter's meta and even dominated an entire top 8 at one regional tournament. The deck was astoundingly overwhelming and had tons of methods for generating advantage. The deck was extremely powerful and stayed this way going forward.
The next meta was a lot simpler as it primarily revolved around 4 decks that constantly made top tables. Three of these decks were released in the newest set of this meta which was X-BT01 the Dark Lord's Rebirth. These 4 decks that dominated the tournament scene would include the upgraded version of Dragon Chief Emperors with stronger consistency and more power plays, the all new Thunder Empire which is a fancy rush deck that is based on getting 3 or more attacks per turn for benefits and their main monster is Demon Lord Dragon, Batzz , the all new Prism Dragons which were based on sitting on their main wall monster Quintessence Crystal Dragon, Athora, and then the most dominant deck of this meta which were the newly introduced Oni Assassins. All 4 of these decks were almost guaranteed to be seen in top 8 but the deck that won all of the regional tournaments but one was the Oni Assassin deck. The reason this deck was so dominant was that it had answers to all of the other decks and had extreme field control. It had good matchups against almost every relevant deck in the game with the exception of Prism Dragons. Prism Dragons acted as a counter to Oni Assassins because of the fact that Athora cannot be destroyed by card effects and this gives Oni Assassins a problem as field control through destruction is how they generate most of their advantage.
After going through the Dark Lord's Rebirth and Dragon Fighters meta only two tournaments remained in Springfest and both of these regional qualifiers would take place during the Crossing Generations Meta. The meta remained mostly the same with Thunder Empire and Prism Dragons getting more powerful but a deck that climbed back to tier one would be the Neo Zwei deck that first debuted during the 2016 WCQ series. The deck became extremely powerful with the release of some dragonarms and an all new Dimenzion known as "Too Over-Dimensional Dragon, Dimenzion". This new card has a terrifying ability which can give it triple attack for one turn which is more than enough for the deck to deal with many threats and allows it to dominate in any game where the opposition lacks the defense for its barrage of attacks. The last two tournaments in the spring circuit recently occurred with Oni Assassins winning the 1st event and the 2nd event had 3 of the top 8 spots taken by Neo Zwei as well as having Neo Zwei taking 1st and 3rd place. It is realistic to say that Neo Zwei has become one of the best decks in the game again with the most recent additions and the decks that were relevant before this set stayed relatively the same when it comes to how viable the decks are on a competitive standpoint.
As the game has evolved and the meta has changed so do the decks we consider to be the best and many changes occurred thanks to the implementation of the Buddyfight X decks so let us look at the last tier list we believe to hold true before Spring Circuit ended.
