Time to upgrade this world!

Hey Buddyfighters, It been super long since our last article but we are back here with the latest Chaos deck that was born from the latest set, Chaos Control Crisis!

So whats so unique about this archetype? The character named Wisdom used this deck to beat the almighty Gao Mikado in the anime. The deck features size 30 monsters in the form of Geargods which have very powerful abilities to go along with their massive size. Lets take a look at the flag below.
card

Like Dragon Ein, "The Chaos" starts with 4 cards in hand but in exchange it allows you to call monster of size upto 99! It also prevents all your size 30 or greater monster from being destroyed by card effects or have their abilities nullified. this is the first time a flag has an added effect other than telling you how many hand, gauge or life you start with. The effect of this flag immediately shuts down many popular decks such as Fifth Omnis, Style of justice Jack and 72 Pillars. Every monster in the deck is a size 3 or size 30 as of now and this prevents alot of cards from being used against the deck. for example, Fifth Omnis wont be able to use their very infamous Dragodesperate against any of your monsters.

The main boss card of the deck is Ruler of Chaos, Geargod VII!

Its a size 30 monster that has a very unique skill exclusive to Geargods. That is the "Chaos Territory", Which allows you to have an additional monster in the center along side the Geargods. This allows you to build a massive push against the opponent as they will have to deal with one additional monster's attack every turn. There a alot of cards that have double and one with even triple attack which makes having 4 monster on board very deadly.  The next signature ability is the "Chaos Drain" which lets your Geargod remain on the field by sacrificing a size 3 or lower Chaos monster. this is particularly powerful in this deck due to the fact that your flag protects the Geargods from being destroyed by card effects. So effectively, your opponent has to clear the entire field by attacking if he/she wants to to even touch your life points. This can prove to be very difficult for many decks. The final ability of this card is its ability to call any Chaos monster without paying the call cost during the start of the battle phase. This is a very powerful ability as you are guaranteed a sacrifice for the Chaos Drain ability and you are able to use cards such as "Chaos Darryl Berck" and "Chaos Osiris" which both have once per turn abilities. So you will be able to use their abilities to add cards to your hand during the opponent's turn.

Geargod VII combos best with "Chaos Adil Diablos". By not paying the call cost of Adil Diablos, you will not get any soul and you can use Adil Diablos to its fullest right of the bat. The deck also comes with a very good control card, "Chaos Tartaros" which has an ability to destroy any monster at counter timing simply by discarding a card. It also has a very efficient cost of just one gauge along with a soul!

The most prominent spell card in the deck is "A ruler's privilege".

An extremely powerful utility card that allows you to either restand a Chaos monster or return any card from the drop zone for no cost. This is an extremely powerful skill for a card with almost no cost as it basically turns into outs to almost any situation. You can return your draw spells, shields, attackers or even Geargods if needed. The restanding ability is also very useful i the current Meta as almost every decks have cards that rest your monsters. Restanding an Adil Diblos and attacking 3 times can cause alot of trouble especially when their resting card was their only out to Adil Diablos. The rest of the spells are nothing unique. you have your Geargod searcher, Blue dragon shield and Nice one equivalents.

the finisher of this deck is the impact called "Forced Global Shutdown"

card

This is very reminiscing of the impact that was played in Kaizerion decks in the past.  At the simple cost of 2 guage, it can deal 5 or more damage to your opponent. It does not require an open center like most impacts from Dragon world require however it can be reduced which maybe a concern due to the rise in popularity of Black Dragons which runs "Black Dragon Shield".

That concludes the basics of the new Chaos deck. Let us know what you think about this article and feel free to provide any suggestions. Buddyformula's team will do our best to write more interesting article and provide more decklists for you guys!

BCS Newark, New Jersey

Hello Buddyfighters!  June 4 was the Buddyfight Regional Championship for Newark, New Jersey in the United States!  With this most recent event top 8 consisted of quite an array of decks with the top looking like this:

1 - Hero World Zetta
1 - Ancient World Duel Jaeger
1 - Katana World Oni Assassin
2 - Katana World Ninjas
3 - Dragon World Thunder Empire

It came as a major shock to most of the players that there were no prism dragon decks in the top 8 and that not only one but two ninja decks made it to the top 8 in this high level meta.  Oni Assassins which were very strong with their release have become less dominant in recent tournaments although the meta hasn't changed which is interesting but they still wormed their way into top 8 being undefeated over 7 rounds of swiss only to have Duel Jaeger also make it through 7 rounds of swiss undefeated.  By the time Top 4 started the remaining decks were 2 ninja decks, 1 thunder empire deck, and 1 Oni Assassin deck.  At the end of this event the top 3 decks that emerged were all Katana World with ninjas taking 2nd and 3rd place while Oni Assassins took 1st place.  Here are the first and second place lists. Sadly we couldn't get the third place list which was a different take on the RPS Shadow Dive Ninjas.
